Parece name of a kibbuz.... But its a city in rio grande do sul.
After tropical serras, wide river valleys and a high plateau that looked like scotland we decended to the valley of the rio paraguay which we crossed right at sunset. We sleept on the other bank and today will arrive in St ângelo, the main city of the brazilian missões.

Curitiba....

Depois de 500 km, são paulo, sorocaba, capão bonito, apiais, chegamos as sete da noite em curitiba. A strada foi simplesmente lindo, serras com curvas sem fim. Na verdade seguimos as partes sul da serra da mantiqueira. Tão bonita mas sem este toque mineiro e muito mas selvagem.

nuclear energy

even though I wrote my surprise about the problems which the earthquake in Japan brought over the Japanese and their nuclear powerplants I think that the press overstates the imporance and risk of this horrible accident. Reading all the news about it, it does still seem that nuclear energy is the most save and non polluting energy form. Even though the risks are existent and if something blows up you can measure it easily because of the advantage to have all the dirt and debris. However having all the dirt in one place is a big advantage when it comes to cleaning up the mess...as my cleaning woman tells me. The CO polluting effects are not so easily measured because they appear worldwide. Global warming and it's followers like hurricanes, floods, exessive rainfalls, draughts have surely killed much more people than Chernobyl (56 confirmed and up to 4000 in the next years due to Leukemia) and Fukushima (0 up to now..).

Tsunamis e outros bichos

Fiquei, como muitos provavelmente, surpreso que um terremoto, na região mais terremoticando mundo pode causar estragos em vários reatores no Japão.
Não foi sempre informado como é infalível esta tecnologia...
1/xxxziliões é a possibilidade que duas catasrofes incidem ao meeesmo tempo (onda grande E terremoto... Daaaa!).
Ok, já ouvimos da Titanic que era inafundável... Mas isso realmente me tirou o fundo dos pés.
Estranhamente não conseguimos ainda deslaçar uma guerra atómica. Falo "nós" por que sei que sou tão imperfeito como todos.... Um pouquinho menos provavelmente... :-)
